Ten platforms that come up in every serious DOOH conversation in India, MEA, and globally — ranked category-aware, because a CMS and a DSP and an agency are not the same thing and a single number isn't honest.
DOOH (digital out-of-home) is in an unusual moment in 2026. Programmatic
spend has caught up to direct buys in most established markets, India
and MEA are still adding inventory faster than any region in the world,
and the buyer who used to need an agency desk now expects to plan and
ship a campaign themselves before lunch.
That changes which platforms matter. A ranking of "DOOH platforms" used
to be a ranking of full-stack CMS-plus-ad-server products. In 2026 it
has to include SSPs, DSPs, regional incumbents, agencies that operate
at platform scale, and direct-booking marketplaces — because real
buyers compare across all of them. Below is our take, category-aware
and honest about who each platform actually fits.
How to read this list: each platform is the best in
its niche, not necessarily the best overall. If you're shortlisting,
match the niche to your buying motion before you compare features.
01
Broadsign
Best overall for large screen networks
DOOH platform
Broadsign has been the default operating system of the global DOOH industry for two decades. It powers networks at Lamar, Outfront, Clear Channel, and JCDecaux, and its breadth of features — CMS, ad server, programmatic SSP via Broadsign Reach, and proof-of-play — is hard to match.
Founded
2003 · Montreal, Canada
Pricing
Enterprise — annual contract, quote required
Choose Broadsign when: You run a 5,000+ screen network already plugged into Broadsign Reach demand, you have a full ad-ops team, and you need deep DSP integrations Broadsign has built over 20 years.
Vistar Media is one of the original DOOH DSPs and powers a significant share of US programmatic DOOH spend. It's deeply integrated with the US publisher landscape and has built impressive audience-modeling and measurement tooling on top.
Founded
2012 · New York, USA
Pricing
CPM-based; managed and self-serve tiers, contract required
Choose Vistar Media when: Your DOOH plan is US- or EU-led, you need Vistar's measurement methodology, and your buying happens inside a programmatic DSP workflow you already use for other channels.
Hivestack (acquired by Perion in 2023) is one of the largest pure-play programmatic DOOH demand-side platforms in the world. Agencies use it to plan, buy, and measure DOOH across markets the same way they buy display or video — through a DSP.
Founded
2017 · Montreal, Canada
Pricing
CPM-based; agency contracts, no public rate card
Choose Hivestack when: You run a global programmatic operation where DOOH is one channel of many, you have a media-agency relationship handling buying, and you need omnichannel attribution alongside display, video, and audio.
Of all the platforms in this list, Adomni's positioning is closest to DigiAds: a self-serve, advertiser-first DOOH product with published pricing and a focus on lowering the barrier to entry for brands that have never bought out-of-home before. Adomni built that for the US market.
Founded
2017 · Las Vegas, USA
Pricing
CPM-based; self-serve with public pricing
Choose Adomni when: You're a US-based advertiser running DOOH campaigns primarily in the US and Canada, and you want a familiar self-serve buying experience tuned to that market.
VIOOH is a programmatic DOOH supply-side platform majority-owned by JCDecaux, launched in 2018 to connect premium DOOH inventory with demand-side platforms. It's purpose-built for the programmatic transaction: an agency on the buy side, a publisher on the sell side, an SSP-DSP handshake in between.
Founded
2018 · London, United Kingdom
Pricing
Programmatic — revenue share with publishers, no platform fee
Choose VIOOH when: You already operate at premium-publisher scale, your demand is agency-mediated programmatic, and your DSP relationships are the lever that grows revenue.
Place Exchange was the first SSP to make DOOH inventory transactable over standard OpenRTB protocols. Publishers plug their CMS into Place Exchange, and DSPs (Vistar, Hivestack, Adelphic, The Trade Desk) bid for impressions.
Founded
2018 · New York, USA
Pricing
Revenue share with publishers; no platform fee for buyers via connected DSPs
Choose Place Exchange when: You have a mature stack (Broadsign / Scala + analytics + billing) and you specifically need an OpenRTB on-ramp to connect to programmatic DSP demand.
Lemma is the best-known programmatic DOOH player headquartered in India and has built strong relationships with Indian media agencies and publishers. The strategic gap between Lemma and DigiAds is the buying motion.
Founded
2014 · Mumbai, India
Pricing
CPM-based; agency contracts
Choose Lemma when: You're running an integrated programmatic plan that combines DOOH with CTV and audio, your agency partnership is the hub, and a DSP that speaks all those channels matters more than self-serve.
Times OOH (part of the Times Group) is one of India's largest and longest-running out-of-home media owners, with high-visibility inventory across airports, transit, and street-level formats. As an operator, they sell their own inventory through a direct rate-card model.
Founded
2003 · Mumbai, India
Pricing
Direct media buy; rate cards and inventory negotiation
Choose Times OOH when: You're buying specific, premium high-visibility inventory that Times OOH owns directly (e.g. a particular airport or transit format) and the budget justifies the direct relationship.
Yodeck is one of the most popular digital signage CMSes in the world, and for good reason: it's affordable, simple, and the free tier means a single-screen operator can be running content the same day. The catch is that Yodeck is built for content management, not advertising.
Founded
2016 · Athens, Greece
Pricing
Free for 1 screen; $7.99/screen/month after
Choose Yodeck when: Your screens show internal content — a menu board, branded loops, wayfinding, store promotions — and you have no intention of selling third-party ad space. Yodeck does that job well for ~$8 a screen a month.
Posterscope is the world's largest specialist OOH agency, part of Dentsu, and the comparison most relevant to DigiAds is the broader 'agency vs. software' question that comes up at every DOOH planning meeting.
Founded
1995 · London, United Kingdom
Pricing
Agency fees + media spend; project-based
Choose Posterscope when: You're a brand making a multi-million-rupee / multi-million-AED OOH decision, you don't have internal media expertise, and the strategic difference between a smart plan and an average plan justifies the agency fee.
We looked at how often each platform comes up in serious DOOH
evaluations in India, MEA, and globally. "Serious" means buyers
who actually shipped budget on the platform inside the last
twelve months, or operators who plugged real inventory into it.
Not platforms that paid for a tradeshow booth.
We then categorised by what the platform actually is — full-stack,
SSP, DSP, regional incumbent, CMS, agency — and ranked the best
in each category, because a "top 10" that pretends a CMS and an
agency are competing for the same buyer's dollar is misleading.
Where DigiAds fits
DigiAds isn't in the ranked list above because this article is
about other platforms — we don't want to spend your
time pitching ourselves while you're comparing. If you read
this far and the gaps in those platforms sound familiar
(enterprise sales cycles, agency middleware, no India / MEA
footprint, no two-sided marketplace), DigiAds is the answer to
most of them.
Self-serve like Adomni, India + MEA-first.
Two-sided like Broadsign Reach, but the marketplace and the CMS are one product.
Programmatic-style targeting without a DSP layer — direct booking with hourly schedule and audience targeting.
Because this article is about other platforms — we don't want to spend your time pitching ourselves while you're comparing. If you've read this far and DigiAds sounds like the right fit (self-serve, India + MEA focus, two-sided marketplace), the homepage has all the detail.
How do you decide what counts as a "DOOH platform"?
Anything that helps you discover, book, run, or measure ads on digital screens that live outside the home. That includes full-stack platforms (Broadsign, DigiAds), pure SSPs (Place Exchange, VIOOH), pure DSPs (Vistar, Hivestack), regional incumbents (Times OOH, Lemma), agencies that operate at platform scale (Posterscope), and CMSes that occasionally get evaluated alongside (Yodeck). We list them all because real buyers compare across categories.
How is this different from a paid 'top 10' list?
No one paid to be on this list and no one paid to be at the top. We picked the platforms based on how often they come up in serious DOOH conversations in India, MEA, and globally. If you think we got something wrong, email sales@digiads.in.
